Issue:
When executing a command in AutoCAD that normally displays a file selection dialog window (such as OPEN, SAVEAS, RECOVER, XATTACH, MAPIINSERT, SCRIPT, etc.), a prompt is displayed at the command line instead of the dialog window appearing. If the command line is turned off when doing this, AutoCAD appears to hang.
Causes:
The FILEDIA system variable is turned off.
Solution:
To display a dialog box when using the Open, Save As, and other commands:
At the command prompt in AutoCAD, enter FILEDIA.
Enter 1 for the value.
